Sponsorship Scheme

School-based Outreach Programme of East & West High School, Bela

For the children from marginalized groups, from Bela and adjoining clusters here as well as from outside, some children will be taken in the hostel for full attention, while more children from the neighbourhood can be accommodated as day scholars. Currently the school is catering to sixty villages in the neighbourhood.
Calculations have been made regarding the cost of education at the school and sponsorship scheme has been accordingly designed.

Sponsorship Scheme
Individuals can sponsor one or more children, but from institutions it is desirable that children are sponsored in units of ten, that is ten or twenty or fifty or hundred. Per child sponsorship will entail a support/donation as per following slab:

PRIMARY SECTION
(i). Rs twenty thousand (in the hostel) per annum in one, or maximum of two installments
(ii). Rs. five thousand per child per annum for children from weaker sections in the neighbourhood who can come as day scholars in one installment .

MIDDLE & SECONDARY SECTION
(iii) Rs twenty four thousand (in the hostel) per annum in one or maximum of two installments
(iv) Rs. seven thousand per child per annum for children from weaker sections in the neighbourhood who can come as day scholars in one installment.

Donors will be kept posted with the progress of the child or the group of children being sponsored by them.

Eligibility of children for sponsorship
Only out of school children or children from very poor families which are unable to support education of their children even at the low expenses will be eligible for sponsorship.

Preference will be given to dalits, with special attention to the Musahar community. Again among the day scholars at least fifty percent sponsored children will be girls from weaker sections including dalits and minorities.
